#7: The Finish Line

A symbol of the strength of the city, the Boston Marathon Finish Line on Boylston Street in Back Bay is a definite to-do during a trip to Boston.

I took this picture in September 2013, only 5 months after the bombings and only days after I moved back to Boston for my last year of college. I stroll past the finish line at least once a week or so- I mean, it is right in front of the Boston Public Library (another must-see) and BPL is one of my favorite places.

Lessons from the Boston Marathon Bombing

“No city will be able to manage a crisis and rebuild…without the help of its people.” -Former Mayor Thomas Menino

This morning, BU Today posted the article “Lessons from the Boston Marathon Bombing.”

I probably shouldn’t admit this, but it was probably one of the five times that I have ever actually opened a BU Today article from their daily newsletter. And I have no regrets, rather I feel it should be shared.

I don’t want to attempt to convince you to read it, but rather read it if you’re interested in visiting Boston, because it shows the resilience and strength of its citizens. I couldn’t be prouder to live here.
